NSVs that make you go Hmmmm.

So I expected some NSVs after following other DSers journey's & looked forward to many of them - maybe not the skinny-boney-ass-not-made-for-sitting-on-hard-chairs one :-P  But many of them sounded way cool.  I encountered a couple of completely unexpected NSVs I wanted to share, anyone else?

My Daily Toilet --

  • It takes me only 15 min to be up, dressed & ready to roll in the morning vs. 1 hour when I was @ ~300lbs
  • I don't need to shower every day -- before you say ewwww!!! I like to rough it -- river trips, back packing, camping -- sometimes (OK, not often I am a high-maintenance girl).  I could never get away with that @ my largest, too much bacteria
  • I only need 1 towel now - previously 1 super-size, 1 standard-size & copious amounts of baby-powered before I felt dry.

Things I thought would change & haven't yet:

  • I'm still a recluse -- only dear friends can blast me away from home (No, I don't have dozens of cats but only b/c my DH would freak)
  • I still suffer from depression
  • I still HATE to shop -- I really wanted that to go away, I just don't have the patience for it.

Happy Holidays! -- Sharon

I'm still not crazy about shopping either but it's tolerable if I go with a girlfriend that is good at it and can give me her approval when I find new clothes.

I'm still an introvert, that didn't change. I recognize that that's just the way I am and I'll never be an extrovert. I do have the confidence to go out there and get in front of people if I have to though.

One thing that did change was my vitamin levels post-op. My labs are awesome now and I don't forget my words like I used to and I don't get the winter blues like I used to either. Some of our issues may be related to poor vitamin and mineral levels.

I need less sleep post-op. That may be vitamin level related too.

Yes shopping with friends is a must! They're honest and can run fetch smaller sizes :-)

Congratulations Sharon. Yes, there are sooo many NSV's and I love it when people share theirs. Your DS has served you well!
