Pain after surgery...sharp pain on right middle side

Since I woke up from surgery I have had a very specific sharp pain on my right side, sort of in the middle. My docs said it is probably just bruising around the liver, but thought I would check with all you pro's to see if anyone else has some insight.  I have found that an ice pack seems to help with the pain, and hopefully will help with some of the swelling.

Ice is a good idea. Later, if you feel sharp twinges, those are most likely healing going on on the inside.

glad to know it is normal.  I felt something similar after my 1st c-section, so figured it was just the normal pains of surgery.  I still hurt a lot when walking, not too much improvement in that area.  Any suggestions on when to expect that to improve?  I heard that 1-2 weeks is pretty common.

2 weeks sounds about right. Hang in there.  :)
