Home from the hospital after complications
Its so hard, to think I complained about the pre-op liquids diet... Noy being able to have anything at all. And watch as other people eat and drink.... Its pure torture. In all this ive lost thirty pounds..doesnt physicaly feel like i.did though because im still so weak. I know this will just take time to heal and everyday will get easier, its still so depressing I cry constantly throughout the day.
I'm so sorry you are going through this! Revisions are a ***** I hope your post will help other people still deciding on their surgery to research carefully and thoroughly, get the best operation for themselves the first time and make the first time the only time.
It sounds like you are depressed - and with good reason. Please talk with someone, maybe your pcp, about treatment for depression. It won't fix the leak, but it may make you feel better and help you to get through this trying time. There is no need for you to suffer any more than necessary.
I hope you feel better soon, get the drain out, and begin to eat again and enjoy the benefits of the DS.

Sorry you are having such difficulties and hope your condition improves rapidly. Don't beat your self up or try to tough this out. Many people get depression after surgery and your surgery has been especially rough with this leak and infection. Depression is normal under the cir****tances. The good news is that you don't have to keep feeling depressed because depression like this can be treated. Call your doctor, explain that you are depressed and ask for medication. Good luck.
HUGS to you, sweetie!!!!!
Once you are healed up, things will get much better!!!!! I have had my share of a difficult RNY to DS revision myself. I also got a leak, and my incision became infected. I have BEEN THROUGH it this year, I have tried very, VERY hard to have a positive attitude. That has helped me through alot of my long year. I am still struggling with issues from my ventral hernia repair surgery..... which was a product of my revision.
May you have no more problems after your PICC line comes out. Keep your chin up!!

I had my revision 12/29/11.
My incision became infected about 3 weeks later.
I discovered the hernia in late March 2012.
Went to the doc up here in Alaska & he said sine I had an infection, that it was best not to do hernia repair surgery (because of the infection/sepsis) for 6 months from when I was placed on antibiotics)..................... so my hernia GREW to 'impressive' sized proportions, while I was waiting to have surgery.......... btw, I also spoke with Dr. Keshishian and he said the same exact thing about the infection, and waiting for the 6 months.
One day at a time, things will improve, sweetie!!!!!
