101 lbs now

A bit of encouragement for everyone.  When I went to the GI Dr on Friday, I looked at the nurse and said "Is this right?"  It was 4 months on Dec 1.  From morning of surgery, I have surpassed the 100 lb mark.  The surgeon said I would be down 100lbs by Christmas, I didn't believe him.  It's a little over 2 weeks until Christmas... I'm already there.

I keep bumping up my daily protein.  I have not started serious exercising yet.

I tend to graze on the weekends ~ a lot.  During the week, I mainly do shakes and protein is all.  Some days I really don't feel like any food so I may do 6 protein shakes.

I'm wearing size L on just about everything.  It's exciting!

I had it really rough coming out of the gate.  I'm sure a lot rougher than some and not as rough as some.   My body did not like the anatomy change.  I still have some issues and am dealing with them.  New ones seem to crop up every Dr's visit.  I take one day at a time with this surgery.  I learn something new everyday!  I always try to look on the bright side of things - no matter what.

I just wanted to share...  I am very thankful and grateful to all of you who have helped me on this board, just know that you made a difference in someone's life.  To some great friends I have made here as well....

An FYI ~

If you haven't tried "Poo~Pourri"  I highly recommend it!  It works!!!

Congratulations butterfly hope, that is really fantastic. I hope my body helps me to have similar results. 100 pounds in 4 months, WOW! I couldn't imagine weighing 100 pounds less by the end of March. Of course I'm basing that on every OTHER diet I've been on and the results from those efforts. Granted,the DS might be slightly different.

@TxRigDiver,

Thank you... You can do it!!!  This surgery is a tool that we have to use.  The learning curve is pretty great but once you get the diet down, the diet is easy to follow!  You haven't had the complications I had so I think you will be fine!

Keep thinking positive!  Get your protein in, then your water!

I'm glad you are doing great!

That is great news.  Congratulations.  I am not losing quite as fast as you are but looking forward to crossing that threshold some time in February.  I think I need to push my protein up even more.  How many grams a day are you consuming on average?  I have been hitting 100G since early out but I might need to reach for 120 or so...

Thx... I am at about 120 grams most days.  I am diligent about keeping my carbs below 50.
