Hey everyone... Wed. will be a month post op for me and the past ten days I have not lost any weight. I am beside myself and so upset. I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing. What is going on? I am 341 pounds currently...

I hear a lot of people on here talking about a three week plateau. Maybe that's what's going on. Your body is adjusting to the weight you recently lost and pretty soon you'll be dropping weight again. Hang in there, it's tough but take a look at the results that are typically 12 to 16 weeks out. If this is the 3 week plateau then you're weight loss is already typically so you'll have the typical results out at 12 to 16 weeks. That's pretty cool right?

You are just fine.  There is a lot to read here but if you were to go back and read past posts of all the surgery boards, you would see where there is a pattern of the 3 week stall.  Did you have the DS or RNY (your username says RNY)?  Keep up with the fluids and get as much protein as you can.

Hi Melanie, First - don't panic.  You are not the one freak of nature for whom the DS isn't working.  I experienced the same thing.  Go to DS facts and re-read the post op section on plateaus referencing the saber tooth tiger.....  I re-read that section for two weeks several times a day trying to remain calm.   It is normal.....   Just try to increase your water a tad and hang on for the ride.  After those two weeks, I started losing again.  It will happen for you as well.    I started out at 345 and 14 weeks out tomorrow and 67.2 pounds down.   Hang in there.

I had the exact same issue.  At two weeks post op I was down 42 pounds.  At three weeks - 42 pounds again.  I was disgusted and couldn't figure out why it happened.  But they assured me it's very normal and the next time I came in, I'd see a difference.  Your body just needs to adjust.  And they were right.  I went in today (just about 5 weeks post op) and I'm down another 13 pounds (total of 55 in just 5 weeks.  So all I can say is hang in there.  Everything is fine.  Just treat yourself well and your body will respond.

Agree.  Relax and let your DS work.  Focus on walking, drinking and getting your protein in and avoiding carbs.  Your DS will work.  Believe.

It's your body's way of regrouping.  Did you take your measurements each week?  I lost 9-13" don't remember now in the two weeks when I didn't lose any weight.  Just breathe!
