Sounds like life has been way too busy for you. It's good to see you back and thanks for the vote of confidence in your response above. Don't feel like you're doing anything wrong if you choose to stay with protein supplements--some of us need them and actually like them. : )  Looks like you're doing what you should. So, keep up the good work.
My dietician and I have talked about protein supplements a few times and we even experimented with me reducing the number of shakes a day--nope, my labs dropped. She reads protein serum, albumin, prealbumin and transferrin (I think), but really scrutinizes albumin. Anyway, when I dropped back to 90 grams from shakes a day, my albumin and protein serum dropped. She said go back to 120 grams a day. My guts may be a little more sensitive since I'm also Celiac--it's a YMMV (your mileage may vary) thing.

Thanks...

It's truly how I feel!

I've grown to like the protein shakes.  In fact, I missed them when I didn't have them those 2 days!  I really thought I had another tub in the pantry!

Your coffee idea also made a difference with me!  On the weekends when I work, I have to have my coffee.  Adding the protein to the coffee, gives me an extra 20.  I drink it until it cools down (about an hour) then add in my protein.  Works like a charm!

The other thing that is great that you suggested:  Nut Thins.  I picked up the Pecan last night.  Along with Cheddar & Sea Salt.

On the weekends when I work, I eat nuts constantly.  I know that really helps my protein!

Have a great weekend!

Low on protein? How many grams are in your protein coffees and what do you aim for daily?

Going to make up some Brok's pizza this weekend so I have a healthy high protein snack on hand.

I'm going to cut down on Mc Donald's to save some money as I seem to get on well with the Superior Source brand of vites which dissolve on your tongue and don't go through the digestive tract (I'm going to try their D as well as their Bs which I'm already on).  The money has to come from somewhere and I'm prepared to put in what effort I can.

I'll also see if I can pick up some zinc lozenges in the shops and have those in addition to my normal zinc (which I take separately from my other vites).

You're spot on with those vitamin plans. Once you get your zinc labs up cut back on the dose so it doesn't mess with your copper.

Very nice Bites...you had me at Southern fried chicken.  ; )

My zinc is usually at least 5 hours apart from my copper.  I didn't realize it'd still affect it.  I'm going to get some blood work done in the next week or so, so I think I'll leave any further tweaking until after that.  I'm happy to up the copper if necessary.

I wasn't able to get any zinc lozenges today though as the store I visited them didn't have them - online!!  I'll hold off until I order more vites later this month.

You should probably be fine with your zinc and copper. Mine just went wonky the last labs I had and the dietician said too much zinc in your system long term may interfere with copper. Not sure, so we decided to up the number of small copper doses and try to keep the zinc away from other vitamins too. Crazy thing is, I had been doing zinc and copper the same way for the last 4 years, then all of a sudden copper sank. o_0
