L: Asian Crack Slaw
D: Beef Stew
S: Wasabi Almonds
I may add a protein shake just to make sure I meet my daily requirement.
Still no vites ordered as my labs look excellent. Time will tell.
Exercise: just walking somewhere.
Also threw in a few left over chicken wingettes from last night. Just to up the protein.
Just because your labs look fine now doesn't mean they're going to hold. It's really tough to bring them back up after you crash your labs. Why delay taking vitamins?
Your Bites look good and it would be a good idea to add a protein shake or 2.

Sorry, but that's a really scary philosophy to me.

Just keep in mind that they don't teach Over-the-Counter Vitamins for the Good Health of the Bariatric Patient 101 in medical school and only Nutrition for Dummies 101--maybe as an elective.

@J,
Please listen to the Vets on here. I am here to tell you. My surgeon told me all kinds of junk! One, don't worry about vits until you are a couple of months out. He said there is no way you can be defiency in 8 weeks. WRONG!!! I was so sick the first month with Pancreatitis twice. He is on the dsfacts website. He's a God (give me a break) PLEASE listen when the vets tell you something on here! They have travelled this journey!!! Did your surgeon have the DS Surgery? I would bet money he hasn't, all he wanted was your money. Never forget that!!!
Each of us are different but the Vets are the best resource we have! We each have to find our own way, be our own advocates, learn what to look for in our labs. Learn what we can tolerate to eat while reaching our goals. The only way we can do that is from the Vets! Vitalady is the forerunner for the WLS's, she is Vitalady for a reason!
I am very thankful to have the vets to refer to on here!
I am 4 months out today, have been through the roughest physical time in my life! I am down 90lbs as of last week (I don't weigh until tomorrow). I found what works for me for.. I don't have the d*** gurgles all the time (which I hated). I have found my way... I couldn't have done it without this board and a consult from a surgeon in Cali!
I encourage you to learn & listen... Take your vits now!
All the best...
no vitamins????? what poppy**** madness is this?????? my unsolicited advise, get a plan and get on it today. i was d3 deficient pre-op and it took m,e over a year to get my levels normal. read up what happens when the human body doesn't keep proper levels in their body. with us, it is more critical since we malabsorb our nutrition.
taking vitamins in NOT an option,

Life has been too busy! I have to get back to posting here! I moved this week (I think that gives me a free pass for a week for exercise LOL!) The 2 move days, I knew I was deficient in protein and I could really tell. I thought I had another tub. It wasn't there. My protein didn't arrive until Friday (yesterday) so Wed & Thurs - I was doing the best I could w/only food but it wasn't enough. For me, I am not sure if there will ever be a time in my life that I can live without a protein supplement, time will tell. Yesterday, by the end of the day, I had had 4 protein shakes, plus about plus protein from food.

S - Nut mix (lots of it so far) & shake

S - Nut thins w/Muenster Cheese
