Ok, my sleep test is over YIPI how they expect you to sleep with all those wires attached to you is beyond me :). Well we can add Sleep Apnea to my list of things to add for the insurance lol who would expect that you would be happy to have it. The tech brought in the mask at some point and put it on me felt like Darth Vader with it on but it isn't as loud as the old machines ( my hubby will be happy about that). Now just have to wait for the Pulmonary doctor to get the report 2 weeks, I have an appointment on the Dec 18th and when they send their report to my DS doctor his office will have everything they need to send to the insurance company was hoping to have an answer my Christmas but looks like New Years but I can handle that. My daughter said we were going to have a party after I had my sleep study ( she is 5) she is so excited for me to have the surgery gotta love her. One more thing checked off my list and one step closer to my new body.

I remember it being very warm in the room, and noisy.  The sleep center was on a busy street and the room was on the corner.  Lots of traffic noise and lights.

Good luck!!

I just had surgery on Nov 7, 2012. Sleep apnea was one of the ways I got my surgery covered by insurance. Plus, my BMI was about 43. They put me on a CPAP and I hated that thing. I rarely wore it. I was put on it in Jan 2012. I probably wore it for 2 months and gave up.

They gave me the mask but no machine lol. My BMI is 52 and I have type 2 diabeties so adding this to the list I think should help them approve my surgery. Keeping fingers crossed we shall see. Felt like Darth Vader with the mask on though thinking I could probably freak out my hubby when he is asleep. :)

lol....I hate CPAP's so much. When I was in the hospital, after my surgery, they kept sending respiratory therapists in to hook me up on it at night. I'd wear it until they left. Then, I'd pull it off! I have tried full face masks and nasal pillows. If I HAD TO WEAR IT, I'd prefer the nasal pillows. My pressures are really high and it's very difficult to get use to wearing.

I won't have the results till the 18th when I go back to the doctors, but I will also have my final appt with doctors except for the Surgen. My nose closes up at night so the nasal thingy is out. Was told after the surgery my type 2 should go away and if I had the sleep apnea it should go away (it did the one time I lost a large amount of weight). Just want the 18th to get here, not good at weighting. But I will wait if this will help me change my life for the better!!!!
