Thanksgiving tips for new DSers.
It's the holidays where I'm SO glad to have the DS. Here's my suggestions to helping you noobs navigate the buffets and tables of goodies...
1) Eat a little bit of everything! Put a little dab of everything that looks good on your plate. You probably won't be able to fini**** all, but that's okay. You won't have too much of anything thats going to get you into too much trouble.
2) No alchohol! I mean it. Not only is it potentially damaging to your liver, but you're a totally cheap date now. We don't want you making a surprise ass out of yourself. You need a year before you inbibe, but even then, have a wingman to keep you out of trouble.
3) Save room for dessert! At least 2 bites. You don't want to walk away feeling deprived - it's the holidays afterall. Fill up on your protein items first > then veggies > then whatever you want so you don't get into too much trouble. BTW - when it comes to pie, it's the crust that may be the biggest gas contributor, so eat the yummy goodness, or better yet - just go to the cheesecake.
4) Stop when you're done - not miserable. Pay attention to warning signs like a couple of hiccups or your nose starting to run. These are signals to stop eating. You can always pause and engage in conversation and circle back to what you may have missed.
Okay vets - add to this wisdom.

I was 6 weeks out on my first Thanksgiving. I remember taking just the tiniest dab of a few things and still leaving a lot of it. I cooked the entire dinner for 15 people so maybe I had already filled up on taste tests? I made cornbread stuffing and corm muffins. No flour based foods. I was pretty tired, but had lots of help- especially with the clean up.
You can have unlimited amounts of whipped cream on a spoonful or two of pie filling LOL
yep the old runny nose here too or sneezing LOL.~!

I'm glad to know this. Based off mine, I would always be full... :-) Even my boss noticed it one day. She said, you are always blowing your nose now and it's red since you had surgery. Why did that happen? I said "Allergies, but nothing allergy wise is working" I wondered if that nerve had been damaged (can't remember the name - Vagus I think)
