Liquid Iron
I ordered it from Amazon.com. My doctor told me to get this specific brand.

I can't advise on mixing it, but make sure you keep taking your copper with it as that should help absorption. My PCP prescribed me liquid iron ferrous furmarate and I neglected to take copper and my 3 month labs were a little low. I trusted that my PCP had given me a complete solution.
Vitamin C also boosts iron absorption so juice would be good for that. I take vitamin C tablets with mine as it doesn't say anything about adding liquid - but mine's different, so sorry to not be able to help specifically.
We should probably be taking more than the recommended dose for a normy given that we don't absorb it all. I may kick off a thread of my own on that subject in the next few days unless a smart cookie pipes in.

That is what it said on the Amazon site for the iron. Hopefully it has a small measuring cup or a marked lid that came with the bottle, to measure the amount. I doubt you need to mix it with anything, but you probably could if you wanted.
I doubt very much that you will absorb much of it.
Heme Iron, Carbonyl Iron and/or polysaccaride are the ones that seem to be best absorbed by us.
Heme Iron and Cabonyl Iron are extremely gentle on the stomach.
I hope the Ferretts IPS helps you.
Oh, also.....I noticed there are sugar alcohol in it, so keep an eye on it in case you come down with loose stool.
