This is very true about fat.  Half and Half is my friend in my coffee.  I had to switch to heavy whipping cream once due to availability at the store.  Gave me oil slicks.

I use heavy cream in everything, and it never gave me oil slicks, not even as a newbie.  Gas from hell, yes, but not even that from heavy cream at this stage of the game.

Good point about experiences being individual.  It sounds like finding the right level of fat intake is more a matter of eating enough fat to keep you regular, but not so much that you have other bowel problems.

Thanks for the info!

Now you've GOT the most important thing...it's all individual.  It would be just too easy to be able to say take X, Y, and Z and you will be set for life.  Always beware the people who try to give you the standard RNY line.  We aren't them.

So why are we different?  It all starts with the surgery itself.  Intestines are motile, they move.  Think earthworm.  And the length of people's intestines is different to start with.  You could get 10 good DS surgeons to measure out a 100cm CC and they would all be different.  And then my small intestine may have been shorter than your to begin with so where does that leave us?  We can be similar but not the same!

So true!

We can all have the same surgery.  Walking in each person's shoes is entirely different!
