OK, just had my blood drawn for my first check of my minerals etc. and they took 12 vials of blood?!??!  did I mention it was 12 vials?  Because it was 12 vials.  Is that normal or is my doc ordering extra stuff?

Nope---the 'usual' blood draw for a DSer is around 18-20 vials. I'd be worried that he isn't testing everything he should.

lol  Guess what? That's a baby draw. I know it seems like a lot...Try 21 tubes of various sizes every 6 months.

Oh joy.  I'm guaranteed to pass out at least twice then!

Wow, when I was in the hospital they drew multiple vials of blood but never that many at one time. Also yesterday was my first post hospital blood draw and they drew 2 vials also. I even asked the phlebotomist if that was all and enough she said yes that's all and that's enough to run their tests.

Man, I'm asking about it when I go for my results.  I did mine a little early because of the holiday next week I wanted to make sure the results were ready by my 12/7 appointment.  I'm a little concerned at the number, partially because it seemed high but now people on the board say it's not enough.  :-S  They had to hit both arms to get them all, the first vein gave out on the 10th vial.
