HOW MUCH WEIGHT.....
that seems like a slippery slope. setting an expectation of a numeric goal for weight loss when there probably isn't but a group of one or two people on this whole board that lost "x" amount of the same amount of pounds. everyone is different, comparing your weight loss to someone else seems like a quick way to instant disappointment to me.... what happens if you don't meet the goal, does that give you your first mark in the "L" column? I want marks in the "W" column. why don't you set a goal of water intake, protein intake, staying on plan with your menu, those give you some quick wins and set the tone for journey, the rest of your life, on a positive note and good trajectory.
I agree with the other posts. Everyone is different and different Drs. have different pre-surgery protocols. I didn't do anything different prior to surgery, no liquid diet, no giving up coffee - nothing. It sent me into a panic the first little while when I would see the amount of weight people were losing for the first couple of weeks - until I realised they were adding the weight they had lost pre-op. You just can't compare your weight loss to others. There are just too many variables to consider. What kept and still keeps me sane is the goal of 25% at 2 months, 50% at 6 months. I am on track and don't have to worry about the rest for now.
