R66, Is your protein rich salad something you throw together from available protein sources or do you have a formal recipe?

Actually it was just the salad and deli bar at the work cafe. Normally I work from home but yesterday was in the office. I made a big salad at lunch time and then ate it throughout the afternoon. I think because I had the RNY first (I am a RNY to DS conversion) I cannot eat a lot of food at one time.
Being busy definitely was better to keep the carbs down.
Also I wish I liked the Julian Bakery bread better. It is pretty dense and did not absorb the butter very well so after awhile it felt like I was eating chalk or something. But it is bread and it is 16g of protein per-slice so I will keep trying it when I can.

You don't take iron and calcium together. Iron is weak and calcium, or nearly anything else, will overwhelm it.
I don't eat eat fish very often and when I first started taking it, I knew all the good reasons. I've forgotten them now...sorry.
Try taking 100,000 IUs of dry D3 a day for about 3 months and retest. Maybe 1 in the AM and 1 in the PM.

I take 2 tablespoons of Barlean's Omega-3 swirl in my lunchtime shake. It's an emulsion and not an oil. Mango peach swirl in a strawberry protein shake.
