Itchy Skin?

I had BPD-DS on October 29th. So far everything seems to be going well, except I have extremely itchy skin. Since a few days after surgery, my right arm, inner thighs, right side and lower abdomen (not near my incision sites) have itched like crazy. Has anyone else had this problem? The itching isn't in skin folds. I've tried anti-itch cream but it hasn't helped. Suggestions?

If you are taking the Tender B Complex from Vtitalady this is a known short lived reaction at first use. If not maybe you are having some kind of allergic reaction to something used at the hospital.

Have you tried benedryl?  I've heard  it takes a long time for the junk the anesthesiologist pumps into you to depart your bod.

about the" itchies", please please let me know if you find an answer.  i am 3 years out and still have this problem.  it is now mostly contained on my upper back. i remember shortly after my surgery, the itchies covered my thighs, legs, palms of my hands and my feet. it drove me nuts.  i would scratch so hard sometimes, that i would break open my skin in little scratches.

 i have visited a dermo doc, as well as asked all my other docs.  no one seems to know why this is.  i do know that soap irritates it more, lotion helps a little, cold weather makes for more itchyness (???).  i am thinking, and i may be way off base here, that it has something to do with how fast our newly altered body can dehydrate.  even so, i do manage to intake approx 80 oz of fluids a day.

Could this be related to not absorbing essential fatty acids? 

I was dx with eczema after around 6 months
