Change in tastes post op

Funny thing, since my surgery I don't like too sweet foods nor can I tolerate non organic produce. I can literally taste the chemicals etc and it is quite disgusting . Thankfully I am not feeding an army and can afford organics. Anyone else have this "side effect" following surgery?

Yes, my tastes did change, but now, it seems everything's pretty much back to normal.  It seems to me that this is another one of those things that fixes itself over time.  It's actually hard for me to remember what foods I couldn't stand early out, because I'm not disliking anything now!

I've noticed since that whenever I eat something "pre-packaged", it tastes like chemicals.  Can't stand anything out of a box or can much anymore.  I did break down this weekend and had a bite of a Ding Dong.  Nasty.  Won't bother with that type of stuff again.

I'm 18 months out and still don't want to put anything "crappy" in my mouth!  I actually crave good, pure food, fixed lovingly, not the fast food I used to survive on.  I have a hard time with deep-fried foods as it seems to literally coat my mouth when I eat it.  Since surgery I have become increasingly aware of organic foods and the difference in flavor from those that are processed.  This is one side effect I hope I don't lose over time.

I have found nothing tastes just right. I will think about a food, want it and then when I have that food it just does not taste right. I am hoping this gets better overtime.

My tastes really changed and stayed that way for the first year. Now, at almost 2 years out, a few things still seem to have permanently changed.

I'm nearly 3 months out...

Mine change all the time...  Some things I loved before surgery (ie fish)... I couldn't stand at first.  I NEVER like Tilapia.  Now I love it.  I ate very natural & organic before.  I have always been able to taste chemicals .... After surgery, my biggest issue with taste is water!  Some I cannot deal with other's I'm fine.

I had a sweet tooth before surgery. I have none now.  It is very bizarre.  Funny thing is the surgeon who did mine told me that if I had a "real" sweet tooth, I should get the RNY.  No joke!  He is a surgeon on the DSFacts website.

Yes, most simple sugars disgust me. I bought some Splenda to try to sweeten tea. I normally drink it straight but sometimes I'm in the mood for sweetened tea. Also I am back where meat disgusts me so I am switching to vegan and some Raw. wish me luck.

Tried hamburger again today. It went down but it didn't like it so it came back up and out. Looks like either ground beef at least may be out now. No big deal to me anyway.
