 Hi Everyone

In 9 days I will join the DS club.  I am nervous but excited at the same time.  If you have any tips, let me know.

My tip is to get a sippy cup to help you take small frequent sips after surgery.  Walk as soon as you can after surgery and walk as long and as often as you are able.  Good luck.

Good Luck !

I am 15 days post-op and if I can think of one thing that I wish I had known is that you can potentially gain some serious weight during surgery from the fluids.  I gained 15 pounds (which came off after about a week), but my "loose" pants I wore to the hospital that were my going home clothes were a little snug and uncomfortable.  Three of my laproscopic small incisions were at my waist line (and 2 of those required staples) so I pulled my pants up like Urkel!!
Best wishes and I must say it's great being on this side... you will enjoy !!

This!  Don't be discouraged if you get on the scale at any point during  your first week or so at home.  I had no idea about the weight gain and was stunned when I got on the scale my 2nd day home and was 10 pounds heavier than when I went in.  Surely that gallbladder weighed SOMETHING??

Good tip on the clothing.  I am packing my bags for my trip to Mexico and wondered about my going home clothes - maybe a dress is better!

Get the Vitalady 90 day starter pack of vites. She offers a mostly chewable pack so that's a good starting point.

Get some Crystal Light in case you're not into plain water post op. Slip on slippers/sandals are a must for the first couple of weeks as you won't want to bend over early out.

All the best for your op and a speedy recovery.
