My PCP has suggested that I be given Reclast Infusion because I have osteropenia. I had RNY suggery in Dec. 2009.  Does anyone have any advice regarding this?

I would get a second opinion from an endocrinologist familiar with malabsorbers like RNY and DS. There might be some info in this post you can use. www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ds/4576392/Need-Help-my-Vitamin-D -is-15-8L-normal-is-30-80/

I had a Reclast infusion last may.  My endo knows my history and felt it was best for me.  Other then being miserable and in pain the next day I had no problems.
One thing I didn't know was that I was advised no tooth extractions after the infusion.  This concerned me because I thought I might need some teeth removed but my dentist was able to save them.

Thank you for your post regarding Reclast Infusion.  I went ahead and cancelled my appointment for next week to get the infusion, so that I could do further study.  I thought that I'd make an appointment with a Rheumatologist to get an expert opinion.  Do endo's deal with osteoporisis too?

Yes, my PCP sent me to an endo to follow my osteoporosis.
