Bowel Movement Question

Ever since surgery, I always go to bathroom as soon as I wake up, at least one more time in the AM and usually another time later in the day. I usually go to #2 just before leaving for work, but often I feel that it's not cleaned out completely, that's usually the reason of a 2nd round at work. Is this normal? Is there anything I can take to just get everything cleaned out once in the morning instead of having the feeling of something's in there but I just can't do much about it?

Thanks!

This is why I get up 3 hours before I leave for work. Hate it, but it works for me!

Many of us go more than one time a day...usually twice. You do not want to rely on artifical means to go...that can cause your muscles to lose the ability to go naturally.

Mainly just relax and let your body do what it needs to do. And having one at work shouldn't be an issue since even normal people have one during the day and end up going while at work.

Also up your fat intake and maybe add miralax to your daily routine. Sounds like you are a touch constipated.

I usually go just once a day- first thing in the morning, but I wait it out.  I swear that a diet-coke is that catalyst to the event (my grandma uses coffee).  I sit there and put on my makeup, just letting it take it's sweet time.  I'm usually on my throne for a good 20 min, and it's not a recommended method for those subject to hemmoroids, but it works for me and I'm still getting things done.

This would be a dream for me. I am still going many times a day and it is causing hemeroids and other uncomfortable problems. Best of luck, Terri

I usually just get up early then I'm relaxed and not rushing about. I find that coffee can also stimulate matters. ;)

It's my morning ritual - I get up almost 2 hrs before I have to be to work because I go "several" times - 3 to 4 in the morning, but mind you I don't sit on the toilet long (I was doing that but ended up getting hemoroids so I stopped!).  My bowels work like clockwork!

I only have to go later in the day if I've eaten alot of carbs....

Now - I have recently had issues with increasing my calcium and using UpCal which is calcium powder rather than the pills and that stuff is like cement so I've had to increase my mag oxide and mag citrate so my morning rituals are not so difficult.  You will adjust....don't worry!

Try taking 1/2 teaspoon of Miralax at bedtime.  You may have to adjust that dose up or down.  I recently had a doc tell me that a small daily maintenance dose of Miralax was perfectly fine to take.

No regularity here. After revision had wonderf DS dumps each morning.  That has changed with time becoming less regular and more unscheduled.  Not constipated but unpredictable.  Getting up early to "go" before work doesn't work because being awake and upright doesn't make it happen for me.  Still go several times during day so knowing were to stop to use bathrooms is important and often it is McD's which is bad because of fast food tempatation .  Have been taking ground flax seed and chia seeds every night and that has helped a lot so now am finally  "going" every morning again. But still go several times a day.  Everybody is different.
