I'm getting my place in line .. had to share something and thought this would be a great place for it. It was sort of "mental food" for me.

Yesterday I was at a MINI event and there are, two my knowledge, 4 other women who've had weight loss surgery in the group. A good friend of mine is a pre-op in this same group. It's apparently been a popular trend. We have a few RNY and a few band's. Everyone, for the most part has been quite successful. From what I've seen they are "doing it right" -- which makes me extremely proud. I've not shared my surgery with these women since I'm still new to the group.

Yesterday we were all discussing clothing and I mentioned how I loved White House Black Market and one of the banders pipes up that she loves Chico's for their insane vanity sizing and how she loves being a zero. She comments to me, that I'd probably be a "-2" in their sizing. I'm a bit startled at this because to me, she's WAY tinier than I am but in her view, I was much smaller than her. Later, she mentions how she wants to lose 10 pounds (you know, the proverbial 10 pounds THIN PEOPLE always seem to want to lose?!) and I agreed that I too also wanted to lose 10 pounds, she stops in the middle of the road and says, "where would you lose it from? your toes?!" She's in shock. She sees me as someone already very very thin who has nothing left to lose.

It really brought to my attention just how our perspective is of ourselves and how we see others . I see her as very tiny yet she doesn't see herself that way and I'm the same. She sees me that way when I don't.

Talk about food for thought!

My tentative food for today ... after that long ramble. ;)

B: 2 scoop coffee protein shake
L: three of my cheesy beefy frittata muffins
D: soup - chicken & rice, 24 carbs and 10 protein not a good one plus 3 PB cookies
S: corn tortilla with cheese & hamburger
D2: flour tortilla filled with cheese and hambuger

It's good to think about perspectives every now and then. Interesting food for thought.
