Tootfields, you are probably just starting to look into revising fron RNY to DS, and I applaud you for doing your research and asking questions. One of the first things you will learn is that there are very few DS surgeons with the skill and experienced needed to do this challenging operation.
I looked up Dr. Enochs (and not to be critical, but this is the kind of thing YOU need to be doing). His website doesn't even list the DS at all, let alone for revision from anything else. It lists lap band and gastric bypass. That's it.

The only good list of DS surgeons is at dsfacts.com.  And even on that list, there are very few who do RNY to DS revisions, so you will need to travel. Might as well accept that idea right now. On the East coast, your closest is probably Dr. Roslin in NYC (unless Dr. Sudan is doing this, which I haven't heard of). Another option might be Dr. Stewart in TX. Offhand I can't think of anyone closer.

I had my revision done with Dr. Rabkin - see www.paclap.com - who is one of the few surgeons recommended for this type of complex surgery. He is in CA but his office is set up for people from out of state.  Please look at www.dsfacts.com which has a lot of good information and a list of the surgeons recommended for revisions.

I had one of the best surgeons in the country and still had major complications. It is complex, complicated surgery. Please make sure you have a good surgeon.

Best of luck, Terri

No to Enochs.  The only shot you have in NC is Dr. Sudan at Duke and I'm not sure he does RNY to DS revisions.  You should call Dr. Sudan's office and check.

If you really want a DS revision, then you need to follow the others' advice and seek a DS surgeon skilled enough for a revision.  Dr. Enochs will likely suggest a distal RNY, which will increase your malabsorption, but leave you with the same pouch and stoma and all the issues that accompany it.
