Where is the CC supposed to connect to the Colon?  The NP could not tell me.

Thanks a bunch!

It hooks at the beginning of large intestines, not the colon. Link: www.dsfacts.com/duodenal-switch-procedure.html

It's all good. I had to draw a cartoon of it to understand it. My cartoon looks like a subway map. lol

Thanks Gina...

You are correct, it does look like a subway map... LOL!

I just wanted clarification...

BTW, who owns the dsfacts website?  Do you know?  Pages don't always load for me.

I used to know her name. She is a DSr and put the site together as a way to pay it forward. Lots of folks participated and contributed.

The lower 40% of the small intestine---the alimentary limb and the common channel---are still attached to the large intestine just like they always were. Nothing is changed on that end of things.

I'm amazed that there's an NP connected with a bariatric practice that doesn't know this.

MsBatt, you would not believe some of the stuff this NP has said.  Her background is more RNY based.  Thank goodness for this board!  I couldn't have made it this far without you all!  All the best... B

Well, even with the RNY, the CC is still connected as always...

Honestly, I really think you need a LOT of education about your new guts.
