DS Vitamin List from Surgeon - Opinions?

What most people fail to recognize when talking with their doctors is this:  The doctor's "toxic" statements are based on vitamin recommendations for NORMAL people without malabsorption issues.  Those NORMs do NOT APPLY TO US.  We are a very distinct exception to that rule.  Because of this, WE have to be our own advocates.  That is why DSers have to be head and shoulders above the rest of the population when it comes to understanding vitamins and lab levels.

If you stick around these sites long enough, you see DSers pop on who we've not heard from in years with crap labs.  That is why every vet on here preaches self-documentation of labs and tracking your own trends on your spreadsheet.

Anyone reading this who doesn't already have their labs posted on their very own spreadsheet, do it now.  I guarantee you will see trends you didn't see before.  And seeing those trends is what allows us to jump on and address vitamin issues before deficiencies show up.

I.  am.  not.  a.  doctor.

I have had so many issues where I am due to deficiencies etc. yet I have had the same issues about specialists refusing the levels suggested of vitamins due to toxic levels etc.  The issue is that I have had major complications and they feel they can't determine what i can/cant absorb....Even after my surgeon suggested my suggested venafir(sp.?) the hematologist and internal specialists refused it.  Its left me unsure of what I should and shouldn't be trying I got to say.  Even though I know they are not specialized in the DS procedure they all have a general understanding of the procedures and have been given the literature on the procedure, and are specialists in their field but it's gotten me no nowhere.  Im in a part of Canada where the DS is not done but have reolcated to Toronto because they have a lot of drs who perform the RNY so I am hoping that will get me more support then what I had.
