Prob going to get slack for this as a post op but lots going on in my head these days so could use a break

I think I'm confusing the function of the alimentary limb the biliary limb and of course common channel.

Can someone set me straight?

Thanks!!

The alimentary limb carries the food.

The biliopancreatic limb carries the bile and digestive juices.

The common channel, also known as the common tract or common limb, is the point from where the alimentary and biliopancreatic limbs meet in the small intestine to where they move into the large intestine.

And the common limb is the point of absorption?

The common channel is where a DS patient's food, bile and digestive juices mix and nutrients are absorbed.

Does this make any sense:

" adhesion of b. Limb causing stagnation resulting in pain diarrhea and weight gain"

If this is from a medical report of yours I'd contact Dr. Rabkin or someone in his office and ask about it. I don't even play a Dr. on tv!

Rabkin has amazing staff---they'll answer your questions or make sure he does.

No it's not part of my records or from Dr.Rabkin, something I'm just trying to figure out .

It was some info another Dr was discussing and ive tried to find more studies/info but can't so I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone knows anything bout it

Adhesions.....any one that has had intestinal/bariatric surgery will have some adhesions. That's how your insides heals.
So if the b. limb/biliopancreatic limb is strangulated by adhesions then yes stagnation/blockage can accure resulting yadda yadda yadda......................................I don't understand though what that would have to do with weight gain. As far as I know (but I'm no doctor) it has nothing to do with weight gain.

It sounds like an identified medical problem - that would indicate the need for a revision approval.
