Hi,

I am considering hiring someone to cook for me and was wondering if there are any pointers to good recipes for us which are high in protein and low in carbs but can have the fats like butter or sour cream.

Any old links or pointers would be great!

Thanks, Terri

Really? Get a crockpot, throw a chuck roast (not a steak! Must be a roast). Put one envelope onion soup mis, one can of cream of mushroom soup and one can of mushrooms WITH the juice on top of it and cook on low for 8 hours. Really NOT hard.

Get some chicken, throw it in the crock pot and put a jar of spaghetti sauce or a jar of salsa over it. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Throw some chicken in the crockpot and put a jar of salsa one degree hotter than you normally eat on it. Cook it on low for 6-8 hours. Put a brick of cream cheese in it and cook for 30 -60 minutes.

Hi Huneypie.  These two links didn't work:

Saw something about Broks pizza in another post and am interested in finding out more about it.
Thanks for taking the time to post your links.  Will have to try the peanut butter bread recipe too.

They worked for me...are you opening them in the same browser window or in a new tab? I right click and opened in a new tab and both came up just now.

Oh, I don't know if you saw my post on thiat threadbut finding a DS surgeon who does revisions that is "new" to us would be helpful...can you tell us is Dr. Coates the one who did yours?

No, can't say.  ;)
Can say it is not a surgery that Dr. Coates typically performs.

Yep, they still work for me too.  You can try this link for Brok's pizza http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/recipe-forum-sticky-thread s/549376-thin-crispy-pizza-crust-easiest-ever-pics-included. html

And I'm pasting Kirmy's PB cookies for you below:

one large egg

a teaspoon of baking soda
two and a bit tablespoons of almond meal/flour
a massive glug of agave nectar (about 3-4 tablespoons of more if you have a violent sweet tooth like me 6....sorry)
a full cup of peanut butter
two shakes of cinnamon

Mix them together then wet you hands and roll them into balls and stick them on a cookie tray and stick it in a medium over for 10mins. Let them cool for a bit on the tray as they are quite squishy at first then cool them on a rack to harden up.

BTW you can do half SF syrup and half agave to lower the carbs.
