Love my DS!
5 weeks out and down 63 lbs.....love my DS!
20 lbs on Optifast pre-op, 18 lbs in hospital, and 25 lbs since coming home.....
I haven't had insulin or oral diabetic medications since the night before my surgery and my blood glucose is perfect.
Last week my GP took me off two of my blood pressure medications and halved the remaining one.

There are only two surgeons in Canada that I know of who do the DS, so it was a little bit of a wait. My GP referred me last September 2011 and my surgery was August 15th 2012. Our government health insurance doesn't officially approve the DS but I believe my surgeon is part of a study to quantify its efficacy as a cure for a number of co-morbidities, so that is why the provincial health insurance system paid for it.
