Then stick to ice. I take it you're post op in the last week?

I had my surgery on july 30 and ever since then water, flavored, or any water make me nauseated. use water in my protein shakes and barley get them down. I can't eat 64 oz of water in ice. I have been able to drink diet coke. i am not a coffee drinker. i use to love tea but not since surgery.

Nausea is a sign of dehydration.  Try different flavors and temperatures.  My go-to was green koolaid and sweet tea (made both with splenda).  Just keep trying.

I drank nothing pre op but plain water and was so disappointed that I could not drink it post-op. I still mostly drink Crystal Light or sugar free Kool-Aid because plain water just feels too heavy in my stomach. I can even drink the carbonated flavored water from Walmart without problems. Keep trying. You MUST stay hydrated. Gatorade?

Water has not tasted right to me either since the surgery. I drink Crystal Light Lemonade almost exclusively. I carry it around with me. I used to like unsweetened ice tea but now that tastes funny too.

Try some other ways to get in some of your liquid.  Popsicles, jello, milk pudding, ice cream.  Some times warm liquids can be tolerated when cold can't... hot tea?  Hot chocolate? Eggnog?.  Make your protein drink with milk instead of water?  Almond milk? Soy milk?  Keep trying.  Its important.

Hmmm, wonder if Bonine or Dramamine would helps the nausea?

Brendalou, right after my surgery I could not drink water either, but what did work like a charm was flat warm diet pepsi. I know some would say that is not good for you. But that and coffee and some tea what kept  me hydrated and I had no problems what so ever.
I'm not saying drink pepsi or diet pepsi, but what I'm saying drink what you can.
It's the liquid that is important not what it is (well except for alcohol).
Also if you are not on a PPI you may want to try it, GERD can make you feel nauseous.

Try ginger or peppermint in your drinks, both can help with nausea. If you can get some ginger ale, give that a try at least till you are not so nauseated.

It took me almost 3 months to be able to drink luke warm water.  Now I am able to drink water cold or cool.  It was explained to me tha****er without anything in it messes with the ph balance of yuor new stomache.  Just try it a little at a time and at different temps.  Good luck.
