11 Days and Counting

So I officially have 11 days after today til my Oct. 1st surgery.  OMG its becoming so surreal.  Everyone other than my BF is supportive but thats the least of my worries.  Thank God those 90 long days are over and its surgery time.  I'm a little nervous just because I know my life will be forever changed ( good energy).  Never seen my self skinny so how will that look.  I do need to work on my self emotionally throughout this time because I do have distorted images of myself to which I'm going to see someone about.  As well as going through such a transformation as such.  I have cleaned my apartment for surgery 3 times, my bag has been packed for a month, granted Im going to look dumb with this huge ass luggage with trial size everything u can imagine from Walmart: soap, deodorant, gas x stripes, chap stick, lotion, shampoo, conditoner, my own towels, q-tips, face wash and some surgical socks lol from the ER that I never wore but insurance paid for.  I have 2 pairs of panties and some shorts to go under that hospital gown.  I dont know what else to do to prepare other than chill the hell out.  I feel like my life is about to officially begin and I cant wait.  I start my liquids on Monday to which I cant believe I decided to still attend work while on this liquid diet.  I miss lunch and I'm ready to chew off my arm for nutrition so I'm sure it will go well but I'm gonna be even more extra than I already am.  Cant lie, I'm a little disappointed in myself that I didnt stop smoking like I planned but now I'm at the cuttoff to where I dont have a choice but to quit. Other than that I'm ready to roll, I hope I dont have healing issues or complications from my bad habit?  Anyone knows for sure what happens?

The smoking thing and what it can do if you DON'T stop before surgery... from a healing perspective it can slow the tissue from healing.... It doesn't happen to everyone but you want to at least be aware that it can prevent the good healthy blood from getting to your wounds and healing them....

IN OTHER NEWS!!!! WOOOOOHOOOO YOUR SURGERY IS COMING UP. Super excited for you. Sounds like you are prepared and ready to go!! You will do GREAT!

That pretty much nails it, although I do realize it's easier said than done.

Isn't this an exciting, scary time !!  I am scheduled for 10/3 and my nerves are on edge, but I, like you, am very ready for this new life to begin !
About the smoking... my surgeon will not do any wls if you have not been smoke free for 90 days... and will test you for nicotine just to make sure, so it must be important.
Good luck on giving up the cigarettes, and good luck and speedy recovery on your surgery !

Best of luck to you...

It's a journey to say the least...

I'm glad your Dr is having you do a two week fast before... It will help healing...  Not all Dr's do it but those that do seem to have a better time...

Which hospital are you having it at?
