First Pre-OP appt done!
DS on 12/18/12
I've had my first preop appt with Dr. Teele. I appreciated his honesty and frankness. I'm a lightweight, BMI 41.9, weight 252, have most of the comorbidities including a 9.5 A1C. Dr Teele said he usually doesn't even mention the Switch but with all of my meds and my A1C, I should seriously research both the switch and the RNY. What can any of you tell me? I've read a lot, know some of the pros and cons, have read a few of the forum posts. I'm ready for this, but want to be as informed as possible before I make any decisions.
A great place to research is www.dsfacts.com. Good luck and keep reading.

Myahsmommy, good for you for researching.
You can also join us on the lightweight board and if you are on FB, there are some DS & LW groups there. Just friend me and tell me who you are over here and I will get you in the groups.
DSFacts as mentioned by majormom is an excellent resource for research as well.

What everyone else said and adding my 2 cents: I've had both. I don't recommend that. Pick the DS and only have WLS once.
RNY to DS 210 lbs gone for 5 years.
