Thanks Julie...
I don't know if it's the part of the country I'm in or what ... I haven't found a whole lot about the DS... That is good to know... no one ever told me that... I've been forcing myself to get in 60 grams of protein a day ... That is great to know...
I doubt I will change my mind. I have found a Dr from the dsfacts website that will reverse. I have to fly to a different part of the country... That's life...
It's gotten to be a bit more than just the symptoms... It's how my body is reacting. I have another gastro consult in a few weeks. I had an issue before the surgery, the surgeon said it would help. It's gotten worse. I don't really want to go deep into it but it's very frustrating.

It doesn't matter if you live in Sierra Leone or in the mountains of Idaho, the internet is full of information about the DS, and it's your responsibility to find it. I'm not sure what part of Texas you are in, but I know there is a very active support group in Denton. Have you looked into that one? Check out DS Facts.com as well. I wish you WOULD go into detail, because we here can tell you whether what you're experiencing is normal or not. I remember the first year of my surgery, I felt like so much of my life revolved around what I ate, and how it would affect me. Your body does adjust over time, and as long as I take some modest precautions (like not eating 10 chocolate chip cookies in one day) my life is completely normal, with the exception of one or two more trips to the toilet a day than a pre-op. Without knowing what the severity of your situation is, I'm fearing that you are really jumping too quickly into the revision process. I think most surgeons would tell you the same.

I have to go through a long approval process for the reversal. It is not going to happen instantly. Yes, I made some sweet friends from that group. It can be rather "jr highish".
I will leave it as this (if you want me to PM you I can to explain it further), if I leave the DS part, then I may have to have part of my colon removed.

I realize you may not want to hear from me.
Your situation calls for a high residue diet as we have previously discussed. You need to be certain that as you become able to add complex carbs into your diet they are high fiber carbs. Potatoes are not high fiber. We're talking leafy greens. Google high fiber foods.
As you are able to eat more food and are getting your protein in, you need to eat lots of these. I believe I told you to throw the 50g of carb limit out the window. AVOID simple carbs and starches but eat complex carbs, as much as 100g a day unless or until it begins to adversely affect your weight loss.
RIght now, you can't do that. You will be struggling to get your protein requirements in. AS was mentioned previously follow the 30-60-90 rule for that. THERE IS A WAY TO STILL INCREASE YOUR FIBER
You WILL be drinking over 64 ounces of fluids a day. Pop a spoonful of Benefiber in every drink to create residue and help your bowel issues. Put it in your protein drinks, your water, anything liquid. If it is conducive to sprinkling, add it to y our foods. I'm fairly certain we discussed that but if we didn't, there it is. You can get fiber in and ease your bowel issues NOW.
I'm begging, please try to do what you can to live with the surgery first. You are not the first DS patient with these issues. I won't name them but if you would start a thread naming your colon/bowel issues, people who have been there/done that would step up to help you.
And I've said it before, finding a therapist to discuss this with would be of great use to you. You are showing signs of becoming obsessed with reversal and unwilling to do what could help to live with your surgery.

I'm quite confident you are the same person who disrupted our very mature support group in the Denton area. You didn't like the advice you were given there by the vets who live and practice the DS everyday so you came looking for someone to tell you what you wanted to hear. It sounds like you're getting the same song and dance here too.
I honestly think you need psychological counseling to deal with your "issues".
