Only Two More Weeks til Surgery

Tonight I start my Liquid only diet to prepare for my D/S.  I think I am more nervous about being on liquids only for two weeks than I am the surgery itself.  Does anyone have any ideas about variety?  I can drink protein drinks but everything else must be "clear" liquid.

I didn't have to do a liquid diet but if I did, I would have eaten a small protein based meal if I got lightheaded or shaky. Good luck!

I had jello and was allowed to eat yogurt and broths.  my surgery called for 2 weeks liquid diet and the last 3 days were clear liquids only.  also had to use a laxitive 3 days before surgery.

I did not have to do the liquid diet.  I think you must have a good surgeon *****quires you to do it.  I feel that it would have made a difference with my recovery.

Coconu****er - great hydration (Amy & Brians, Zoco are my favs)... other brands taste funky to me

Lime Sugar Free Jello

Boil chicken and then just drink the broth, cook a casserole or something for the family with the chicken.  Put a couple of pieces of bacon in it to give it some added flavor.

Good luck on your surgery

I'm on my liquid diet now . . . surgery on Monday!

I've been mixing in instant coffee to my shakes to make them Mocha or latte flavored, and about a half of a crystal light package to the vanilla to change the flavor, the raspberry ice crystal light tastes great in chocolate or vanilla shakes.

I get one cup of broth . . . I've been using beef out of a box, and before I warm it in the microwave I add seasonings to it to change it up.  I love Mural of Flavor seasoing from Penzy's, I use it when I make beef stew for my family so now my broth tastes like beef stew to me.  :-)

I did boil a chicken, didn't care for the broth, but I made Gumbo for the family with the chicken and the stock and then they ate the GUmbo and I drank the soupy part.  Very yummy!

Good luck!

I am on my third day of the Liquid diet and tonight was a bit rough, I think I had 6 popcycles.  But I am doing pretty good and really starting to get excited for the surgery.
