I switched because A. I came their for Dr. Barker to preform the surgery and through a conversation with a nurse about my anxieties discovered Dr. Hodges was doing the surgery. Love her too by the way but since mine is a revision far more complicated and Dr. Hodges nor Dr. Barker have been doing my type of revision very long or often (Dr. Hodges about a year or so and Dr. Barker about 18 months). I found this out via the Forest Park Medical Center. I did ask their office but nobody seemed to be able to tell me that. I am sure Dr. Hodges or Dr. Barker would have if I could have talked to either one but I forgot to ask at the 2nd consult and then once your out of the office it is nearly impossible to get answers from anyone. B. I was just extremely nervous and wanted to meet Dr. Barker prior to surgery (which they tell you over over if you want to talk to him no problem well can schedule you an appointment to consult with him) Which I am sure you are aware is complete BS I asked over and over and they said sure I can talk to him in 3 months. C. just had other trust issue with is staff that have just compiled over the last few moths and at the end of the day I was still not feeling more settled with my decision (which at this point I should be comfortable). D. started asking around for second opinions and learned Dr. Stewart has been doing my revision about 8 years on a weekly basis and I got to meet him in person. I do not need to be hand held by the surgeon but I do want to talk for just a few minutes before he cuts into me. Hey if you want it done early mine was schedule 9/19 call Reva she might be able to bumb you up. If you are having a DS no revision Dr. Barker is very skilled surgeon you should have no worries. A revision is differnt I just wanted someone who has been doing it a long time, I just felt more comfortable at Dr. Stewart's office and with his staff they are very sweet and you don't feel like cattle being shuffled in and out the office you feel like a patient.
