Ds weight gain?????
I've been here 5 years and I've read of 4 that gained 50 or more back. 2 of those 4 took 50 pounds or so off, 1 had a revision to a medial RNY to correct her initial DS surgery limb lengths and one is currently just starting her journey to lose her regain. That's about 4 of at least a thousand people.

IMHO, you have to work EXTREMELY hard to "break" a DS. Even then, I think there would be more unpleasant effects than weight gain.
I honestly can't see how anyone could regain significantly with a true DS.
It's a full time job just to stay nourished, much less have anything left over to go to fat!
For me, it's a fight to keep my weight from going any lower prior to thighplasty to remove loose skin.

I'm 7 years out and have regained about 15 lbs from my lowest, which is still under the average 15-20% of lost weight regained. I think I'm going to keep it, because I love that my boobs filled back out again.
With the hair - you want to expect it. It's called telogen effluvium, and in a nutshell, it's your hair growth cycle restarting itself. You have new hairs pushing out the old so it can emerge. This occurs a few months post op, lasts a few months and stops. It can occur for a bunch of different traumas to the body, including surgery, chiildbirth, or even extreme stress.
Later down the road if it starts again you can question the nutrients, but the first go-round, it's completely normal.

I have been here about 6 years and Major Mom is correct--it's very rare and fixable in most cases by going back to basics.
I have maintained my weight loss--give or take 10 pounds due to periods and such--for 4.5 years now. I always fret that my honeymoon is over. So far, so good.
I feel best at a particular weight and that is what I consider my goal weight. It puts me at an "overweight" BMI on the charts, but when I was what they called "normal," I had too many bones sticking out for my taste. I hate looking at my family's WDW vacation photos because I feel like I look too boney then. I gained a few pounds and feel inifintely better.
