Hi!!!  Thanks so much for your post!  I am so glad to hear it went well.

I did hear back from Nina this morning stating that Ungson would be with Aceves in the operating room assisting him.  So I get two top surgeons for the price of one!!!  That is the way I look at it!

I did ask her how long it would be to get a surgery date as I know the other surgeon (Ungson) has to coordinate with his own schedule.  I am looking or hoping for late October so hoping a month is long enough to coordinate if I decide this is the way I am going to go.

I do still have my lap Band in just kind of hanging out in there! LOL  I have had my lapband in for 10 years and just want a surgery to get this weight off once and for all.

I am looking at DS since I need to take NSAIDS for my arthritis in my back besides other things.  So I am leaning towards the DS as it does have the best record for lasting weight loss.

It is difficult as everyone thinks their DR is the best and no others are competent and that their weight loss surgery is the only way to go...it is hard to know what is right!

But I think the DS is the best for my situation...being that I need to stay on NSAIDS and will need to for life to manage the arthritis pain.  It also says that it is the easiest to eat "normal" protein with.  I like this idea...as I have thrown up violently for the past 9 years!  Suffered from very mild GERD and just have had a terrible time.

I do know the DS comes with some serious side effects too and possible death if I don't follow the rules!  But I am vitamin deficient with the bad and have been on vitamins for years so I am ahead of the game on that one.

I am a bit worried I will lose too much weight with the DS!!  I don't want to lose too much and become malnourished!!  That worries me...but I know good protien always comes first in the food line of eating.

Okay, I will shut up now!! LOL...Thanks for letting me know you just had yours done and keep me updated!!  I would love to know how it goes.

As a revision you're likely to be a slower loser as you already have a band and your metabolism has adjusted to a lower calorie intake.

Lowish BMI? See Lightweights Board! Lightweight Creed For more on DS see www.DSfacts.com

yes, I definitely think so also with the slower loser..I have always been that way but worse since the band so I am still looking at a slow process but I think the best one for me...Thanks for your input..I appreciate it. :-)
