I had this done in March 2012. Dr. John Rabkin in San Francisco is one of the two surgeons I have seen recommended. I used him and still had major complications. It is doable and many have had it done but please go to a recommended surgeon. Listen to the risks since they are real. This is not something to do to lose a few pounds. I had started at 450 with the RNY, got down to 299.9999 for about one second and was 375 when I did the revision.
Dr. Rabkin's website is http://www.paclap.com/. It has a lot of valuable information and the practice is setup for patients to travel to him. I did not since I live nearby.
Best of luck. Terri
My pre-RNY weight was 382 lbs. Got down to 197 lbs for about 2 days and was always back over 200 lbs. My DS pre-op weight was 298, and now I am 5 lbs below goal at 165. A lot less than I ever got with RNY.
