You mean you are upset that it took what was less than an hour for someone to answer your question?  You need to give a little more time than that, answers will come.

You have to meet the qualifications for wls, but if you do, then yes.  The fun part is finding a surgeon to do it, and don't be talked into thinking that the distal RNY gets the same results.

Not that I'll ever need it (I already have the DS), but why's ERNY so bad?

You maintain all of the challenges and problems associated with the pouch, but add to it the extra challenges of malabsorption of the distal bypass.  You have to eat protein and fat like a DSer, but if you dump on fat, you're in for a world of hurt.

OK, thanks.  So I guess even if you don't dump as an RNYer you may well do with the amount of fat you'd eat as a DSer.

I have a RNY pouch, with a 200cm common channel. Don't dump, malabsorb fat like crazy, and am now 7 years out.
I gained overall 10 pounds that I cried about and struggled to lose, just to gain it back. I finally decided at 56 menapausal woman, 10 pounds can just stay, and I can stop worrying about it.
My vitamins are good and my health is very good.
Basically I have an Extended RNY, and have done very well.
Unless you walk a mile in someone's shoes, you can only get feedback on any individual's journey and outcome.
Best wishes.
