6 weeks post op and 40yrs old today!
Just popping in to say I made it to 6 weeks post op, not sure how really as my tummy still isn't very accepting of much, kinda have got to force myself to remember to eat something. Which has been very difficult because I have been going nuts around my house preparing yesterday for my 40th birthday party and we all know how much work that is, plus I always go over and beyond what a "normal" person would do. So I was going 8 hrs sometimes with no food, drinking tho I was doing, but still feeling dehydrated just I guess from moving around and sweating so much. Not really sure, my mouth is soooo dry it is crazy. Trying to keep drinking more then normal but it is so hard. Hopefully will be back on track by tomorrow, not too much going on the next few days. Of course this weekend is going to be nuts again as we are going away for one night to visit family and see the Phillies play the Orioles in Baltimore. Exciting but already sounds exhausting. Finally weening myself from Flinstone vitamins to the Bariatric ones. Sure hope I can keep them from coming back up on me. Too much $ to spend if I can't end up using them. One question....I would like a swallow multi with high ADEK but haven't found one yet...can someone point me in the right direction? The cheaper the better also. Don't have an income right now and spending tons on vitamins isn't something I can do right now. Thanks!

Happy birthday, Donna! I was told not to get a non chewable until at least three months out because we won't absorb them. I use the chewable high AEK from bariatric advantage. It isn't delicious but what vitamin is?
Hey Merry,
Yes I ordered the chewables and had a few samples to try and they were OKAY. Just huge and I had to break them up even to chew them up. I was just wondering when and where I could get swallow ones. I don't remember what our practice said about chewables vs. swallows. That's all. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Totally in the recovery mode today, slept til almost 11 and still in PJ's at 12:15. lol Gotta recoup the energy I lost over the last week and get back on track with eating and drinking correctly. Hard work.

Happy 40'th Birthday !!!
I use these vitamins, from Bariatric Choice, or Diet Direct, or the GHP store at my doctors.
AquADEK- soft gels--one pill a day( order on line, many sources)
Celebrate Bariatric Supplements--- 3 capsules a day- Bariatric multi vitamins. ( on line from above sources, sometimes sales, and free ship incentives)
Also:
Iron/C-- 1- chewy bites, or 1- Celebrate tab
B-1--1 tab
B-12- 1 tab
Prilosec--1 tab
My labs have been spot on for the past year. Be sure to have your PCP and your surgeon/nutritionist go over your labs to determine what vitamins and amounts are right for you. Its wise to have all your doctors check your labs, request the lab to send results to all of them, and a copy to you to keep track of your numbers.

Thanks everyone for your help. I just know something must be wrong cause I am still not feeling good enough to want to eat. So it becomes very hard to put anything in my mouth as I feel sick swallowing. UGH, thought I was doing well and then I go backwards again. Today has been a really rough day. Forcing a protein shake in now. I just ordered some sample packs from vitalady in the nectar brand as that is what my NP said I should try last time I came out of the hospital for dehydration. So I am praying that one of the 7 I bought I can get down ok and start getting more protein in me, as I read on vitalady that we don't absorb much protein at all from our regular food diet. Is that true? I am not getting much from the Peanut butter or steak or chicken or eggs I am eating? UGH, that is frustrating also. I appreciate all your vetted experience and advice!
And thanks for the Birthday wishes, looking forward to 40 more as a non-obese woman!
