old advice... anyone still need it?
I remember back 6-7 years ago when I was getting my DS, one of the topics of advice I saw on here a LOT was after surgery, to take TINY bites and chew-chew-chew to mush before swallowing, and sip-sip-sip your water (or comparable fluids) all day long. The chew-chew-chew sip-sip-sip mantra as repeated over and over. Now I hardly see it. Is it because of the stricter post-op diets people are having to go on now? You can only eat really soft foods for awhile, hence you don't have to chew it to mush? Just curous. One way or another, it's still good for you, and still good advice!
Good luck to all the newbies out there!

That was told to us by our dietitian to use for the first few months until things got more normal. It's a great way to slow yourself down when you eat.

Agree! I still try to take small bites, which helps me not overeat. I don't chew to mush anymore, but going through that for months did help me learn to slow down while eating.
