Hello all!

I finally have my DS surgery scheduled and it's on Monday, 3/12 (3 weeks from tomorrow!).

I have been given several pairs of pants that range from Size 24-16 for me when I start to lose the weight, not many shirts, but I can always go and buy T-shirts and what not.

But my main question is that I love to swim and just recently my swimsuit broke the strap adjustment plastic piece and I am considering buying a new swimsuit.  This would mean about $30-40 sunk into a new swimsuit that I will not be able to wear for long.  Should I just wait a little while longer?  I wanted to be able to get into the pool following surgery as part of my exercise routine.  Do you think I should just wait several months or just get one now and another when it becomes too loose?  I am up in the air...

I think if you enjoy swiming and will be swimming for your exercise post-op, it would be a good idea to go ahead and get another one or two. You'll be going down in sizes so fast once you hit about size 16 though, be ready :)

Thanks so much for the advice.  I figure I could get a good couple of months use out of it.  I am looking forward to the journey, I just have to get over the surgery "hump" and start on the right road.

Hi, preop I never went swimming, so buying a suit was foreign.. Started after surgery and LOVE it!!!with that said I get mine at shapefx.com. 10 bucks!! So as I have gone down sizes 10 bucks every few weeks keeps me swimming.. They really hold you in are usually around 80 bucks!! I did find they run 1 size small it seems for me.. I wear a 10 now and my current suit is a 12 and it still supports my loose skin in well ;) good luck!!!

I also say go for the suit ! I love the water as well... and go as often as I can! Check ebay for suits as well. I have gotten some really good deals.

I bought mine in May for a trip in July...by July it was too big. I should have waited longer...closer to when I really needed one.

Don't be in a hurry to buy it yet, wait til just the day or week before you need it. See if you can fix the one that broke...I think they sell those adjustment pieces at places like Joanne's or Michael's.

Thanks Liz!  I will certainly check to see if I can get it fixed.  It is an Old Navy suit and it is the most COMFORTABLE suit I've ever owned!  I'd love to get it fixed.
