Need some help and advise!!! PLEASE

 Ok. I see you had the band, which I assume is long gone. I am not sure that what you are looking at would be considered a revision in surgical terms. 

On the other board there was recently a long thread about surgeons in Mexico. I would check that out. There is only one recommended, Ungson. There was also some discussion about the surgeon in Brazil. Please check it out and dont settle for anything less than the DS!

 I have the lap band.  I did it about 5 years ago.  

 Please go to DSfacts.com and read, read, read!  Dr. Aceves  is a nightmare, high complication rates.  Please do not put yourself in his hands.  Dr. Ungson is tne ONLY DS surgeon in Mexico who is recognized as a proper DS surgeon.  The DS wil give you the very best chance to lose all the weight you need to lose.

FYI everyone, I was told that Dr Aceves is assisted by Dr Ungson on ALL DS surgeries....can you please point me to some proof of Dr Aceves' complication rate? Ive never heard anything negative about him.

There are good DS surgeons in the states, Brazil and Mexico that will help you with long term goals.  I'm pretty sure you have enough money for most of them.  Read at DSFACTS.com and  I would have a chat with the vets that don't hang out here any longer.  I know Diana has a contact with a US surgeon that is offering steep discounts on the DS.  Go to the link in my siggie and ask for her help.

Hi there.  I'm sure you've gotten lots of the same answer but I didn't have time today to read them all.  The only surgery you should consider is the DS and the only surgeon in Mexico is Ungson.  Some US surgeon's also have good self-pay rates and I'm sure you've been told about them and about DSFACTS.com and the new site on proboards.

Please don't get a RnY at your BMI.

It's not safe because either (A) He doesn't have the confidence to work on someone your size, or (B) he doesn't have the equipment appropriate for your size. If he doesn't feel confident that he can do a safe surgery on you, by all means - don't push him to put yourself at risk. Other docs are better equipped and better skilled. Don't insist on laparoscopic surgery - for with your size, you would be under anesthesia much longer. With an open procedure, they see everything first hand and no rooting around to find things through a camera. The incision isn't that big of a deal, really.

I also second the motion to seek another opinion with Dr. Ungson if you're looking to Mexico.
