I think the weight gain will slow and go away in time with the Prednisone. It did for me when I was on it.
I will warn you though Prednisone can increase bone loss, which is can be a problem as well, so increase your calcium and Vit D3 and K2 intake to help offset it and prevent osteoporosis.
Hope you get things figured out and it all calms down soon.
