Cross post C-diff
I recently went through over 2 months of diarrhea, with nothing working to even slow it down. Fiber, Imodium, Pepto, probiotics, all failed me.
I got a prescription for Flagyl, took it for 14 days, and had extreme diarrhea the entire time. The doc said don't stop, did bloodwork, said i was hydrated enough.
When the 14 days were over, and no more Flagyl, I haven't had anymore diarrhea.
So...I guess I did have C-diff, even though the culture came back negative?
No idea what's up, wondering about anyone else's experience.
I'm 6 years out with RNY pouch, and 200cm common channel, slightly longer than a DS but it's working for me.
Thanks for any input.
I think that it could have been another bacterial overgrowth - there are lots of different kinds of bacteria in our guts.
I had something similar, didn't test positive for C. Diff (thought the lab was in Jordan so I'm not really sure about what they did there) but Flagyl stopped it in its tracks. Sometimes its less important to know what it is than what the cure is.

If you haven't already, start taking a good quality probiotic to prevent something like this from happening again.
