Ch ch ch changes.........
How awesome Kirmy! I am in the middle of icky work stuff too...but no where near what you've put up with. Just stuck in a rut and really see no way out unless I quit. Most days I hate going to work.
I am envious of you...I can't quite do something like what you're doing. With 2 kids still at home (teens though), and my hubby travels 3-4 days a week for his job, it's not possible now, unless I go away on the weekends and then we never see each other! lol
Good luck!

Kirmy,
You have no idea how reading your posts from across the pond have helped me! as I sit here at 43, a mom of 3 15 year olds, and a 17 year, a wife, daughter and a college student sometimes i just stare out a window and ask " what next?" but when i read your posts it is such a lift... you are funny and profound at the same time, you seriously know just how to phrase things!! and well it seems to me you have it all figured out!! and if you don't then you wing it!! I just wanted to say THANKS KIRMY!!
Now for the career thing i worked in a hospital for 6 years and finally i had to say enough!! I had turned clinical and cold to things that i use to show compassion about... and then i was my sister's caregiver until she passed and then took care of my mom and month later with a massive heart attack and quad bi-pass... I know that it is time for me to move on and get out... i just did not find any pleasure in what i was doing any longer... so you are doing the best thing!! good luck and PLEASE keep your posts coming I NEED THEM!!
Denise
