Ch ch ch changes.........

It's true. You read these inspiring posts and you wonder if you too will feel so changed. All I can say is that it is suttle and profound at the same time.  Maybe it isn't so suttle down the line after the weight has come off and the real life altering changes begin but early on it is just an intense knowledge in your (newly altered) gut that you as you knew you is no more.  Your intuition is nudging you, telling you that you will soon be ready to fulfill potentials you never knew you had. What those potentials are may be a complete mystery or you may have an idea of what you can do. I have some idea of where I am going once the weight is not an obstacle but I have been working towards a goal for many years and the last piece of the puzzle is the weight loss.  Others may be affected much more profoundly if they've never really tried to accomplish a significant goal. Regardless, it is all good.  Do you have a surgery date yet?

Nope.  No surgery date yet.  I'm hoping early spring if all goes well with the insurance.   It's weird, but as frightened and fickle as a part of me is, there is a very sound and solid part that knows I will have this surgery, it's just a weird kind of knowing from a calm, inner place.

Me too!! I tried for three years to figure out a way to get insurance to cover it or to get it done in Mexico and all along I 'knew' it was going to happen. I planned my life those three years with the assumption that the surgery was a done deal. I am not the most optimistic person but I knew in my soul that somehow, some way I was getting it. Then things fell into place and although I ended up being a self pay, I couldn't be happier with the way it all worked out as my path ended up going through Dr. Keshishian's office. If you haven't picked a surgeon yet, seriously consider him. He is so truly awesome I plain could not imagine doing this again with any other surgeon.

YAY YOU!!!!  You have taken a great plenty of torture there and it's time for new pastures. Good for you girlie!

Sounds like a great plan, except for the North Sea bit. The Caribbean beckons...

 I'm very proud of you, wee bairn.   It's amazing how freeing ourselves of gobs of weight lightens us up enough to move forward by leaps and bounds.   I too made some very significant changes in my life as a post-op, and have regretted none of them.      What a wonderful opportunity awaits you, and I have to give kudos to your David for enabling this dream of yours to come true.    He sounds like a wonderfully secure and mature fellow.
