Slow weight loss post-revision with lap band?

I feel like the DS recovery has been better for me.

My lapband surgeon put me on liquids for 10 days before surgery. I was so lethargic going in. I was in a good amount of pain after lapband. I did go back to work 6 days after surgery but the first 2 were hellacious and i was glad i have a mostly desk job.

I dont know if it was because i prepared myself to be in so much pain after surgery but i do know i had a much better surgeon this time and i know the technique that he uses was my saving grace.

I had very little abdominal pain and was off of narcotics 6 days after surgery (cuz i was allergic but i was done with them) then only taking 500mg of Tylenol every 4 hrs when needed.

The nausea has been the only thing that has put any kind of tarnish on my healing but once i figured out i was totally lactose intolerant it has been better and the little bit that i get on occasion now is very tolerable.

Good question :) I've been wondering the same thing myself since I would like a revision as well...

I am also a band to DS revision and although sometimes I feel it is going so slow, you will see from my ticker and blog on my page that I am doing quite well.

All the best

I had a lap band and really never lost anything with it.  I think about 15 lbs, but that was really only due to liquid diet and swelling post op.  It just never worked for me in any kind of productive way.

I had my DS on Oct. 25th and as of this morning I was down 30 lbs.  I don't think that's slow, but I am sure it will slow down soon!  I am waiting until Tuesday to update my ticker with my official weight.

Anyway I am sure it varies.  Lap band can definitely contribute to metabolism ******up-edness, did for me!  But the DS helps with that.

If life with your band sucks, you are not alone and it's not your fault.  Check out the failed lap band group!

Yes I do feel my weight loss is slower. But, I can eat more with a DS than I could with the band.
