newbie looking for some advice
Hi all,
I am a RNY grad from 2004 looking for some information on revision surgery. I posted on the revision board but it was suggested I come over here and ask some questions I have. How did you find your revison surgeon? I was browsing the boards, but it looks like the only qualified surgeon in PA isnt doing DS revision surgery for anyone under 150lbs OVER WEIGHT... so where do I go from there? Call and make an appt to meet with them?
and for those of you who had revision RNY to DS-how was surgery the second go round?

The journey never ends, it only chooses a new direction
You are going to have to travel. There are literally a handful of surgeons that do the RNY to DS revision and it would be in your best interest to seek one of these very talented surgeons out. Do not let distance be your guide! Here is the short list as to qualified revision surgeons:
Dr. Ara Keshishian, Glendale CA (LA) Phone: 818-812-7222
Dr.John Rabkin, San Francisco, CA Phone: 415-668-3200 or 1-888-848-8446 toll free
I believe Dr. Stewart in Denton, TX also does revisions but I am not entirely sure of that. Phone: 940-382-9429
Dr. Mitchell Roslin, NYC, NY Phone: 212-434-3285 or 1-888-949-9334 toll free
There are a couple of DS surgeons in PA but you are a revision and you need to go to a surgeon who can do your surgery. I am sure other members will chime in with other qualified surgeons but be prepared, there aren't many of them. Also, read everything on this site: www.dsfacts.com
Good luck!!

Welcome.
Sandy is right. Most of us had to travel. There are only a few surgeons qualified to do this type of revision since it's very complex, I'd add Dr, Gagner in Canada and possibly Dr. Roslin in NYC, I don't believe Dr, Stewart does the RNY to DS revision but you can certainly
My revision was almost a year ago. I think the biggest difference is that, after revisional surgery, the weight loss is much slower.
Read this board, since there are quite a few of us who've had this done, also read DSFacts.com.
Good luck.

Yes, Dr. Greenbaum does some RNY to DS revisions. I think I can safely promise he wouldn't do one on someone of normal weight for ANY reason, though. Or maybe better said, I'd fall over in a faint if he did. Dr. Keshishian would be the one to see for a revision at normal weight due to awful problems, like Yehuda and....oh dagnabbit, I can see her avi in my mind but her name just fell out of my head.
There are no qualifying RNY-to-DS surgeons in PA, period. There are two surgeons currently doing the DS. My own surgeon has had to take an extended sabbatical due to illness, and he did not do RNY to DS revisions.
What's happening with your health that you are considering this revision at such a normal weight? Or is "under 150" a typo?
