Well I'm 2wks out tomorrow and recovery has been pretty good. Actually so good that if i didn't have beige poo's i would think i wasn't given the DS! So i decided to go with my friend to see Breaking Dawn (yes I'm a certified twitard and I'm OK with it:)

The movie went great and since I'm still on mushies i picked a Mexican restaurant ahead of time so i could get refried beans, sour cream and avocados. YUM!

Well, before the food showed my belly decided it was time. She thinks shes got me, well i have news for her...i packed a travel "business" bag!!! Standard DS necessity:)

Travel size wipes and travel spray. So i spray the toilet as ive been instructed by the vets, sit, flush and let it go, flush again, finish my business, spray and flush again. Before surgery i wouldn't even pee in a public bathroom! But really this was nothing to it:)

Will it always be this easy, maybe not but it was a big relief because i dreaded how my social life would be after...of course I'm still healing and hopefully wont have to many issues when I'm out in the future but i have my system!

I'm sure this has been posted before by someone else but i wanted to post my experience so pre op and just post op know to be prepared and know that its not that bad.

Jen, aren't we only 2 weeks out??  Mine was the 7th, your surgery the 9th?  So am I smoking crack or aren't we just 2 weeks out?   Either way I'm so glad your recovery is going well, I am scared to venture out just yet!!

Funny, I too wonder if I actually had the surgery based on my post op experiences thus far. I had surgery the day after you so I think we are close enough to consider our recovery times equal. I have had a marvelous recovery as well except for the fatigue. However, I do not (yet) have paint peeling poo or gas. I do not have diarrhea or even loose stools. I have normal BMs although they are small and right now, frequent. I did not have a BM until my 10th day post op.  I would feel less stressed about using a public restroom now, post DS, compared to before the surgery. I wonder how long this will last.

Oh thank goodness im not the only one. I almost feel gulity things are going so well! I had some nausea in the beginning but that is pretty much gone. And i do have "wall paper" peeling poo's. Im not quite to paint peeling yet. And some days i think i go my own weight in poo! :)

Hubs said the other day that my poo's smell so bad that if Chuck Norris's fists had a smell, thats what they'd smell like. I laughed and said i dont think its even at its worst yet! HAHA

Well how fortunate am I to have less stinky poo's?  I don't get it. So much of what I expected has not come to pass and I am enormously happy about it. I can eat pretty well too so it's not like I'm eating only mushy stuff. Of course I can't eat much of anything but nothing seems to bother me, although I am not eating anything ridiculous. Yesterday I took a 2 oz. pouch of tuna in oil and mixed it up with some diced onions, celery seed and mayo and made a quick (and oh so yummy) tuna salad. I couldn't eat it all but I put  a good dent in it.

The worst for me so far is this fatigue. I know, totally normal but I am impatient. I went to the supermarket yesterday which is fortunately close to my home and when I got back, I was so completely exhausted I had to sleep for three hours. Other than the constant fatigue, I am progressing very well, much better than I hoped.
