DS life is wonderful. I'm trying to slow it down-been doing a lot of volunteering and it's kept me very busy-that's why I've not been around posting....but I'm hoping to change that beginning next year.

You just hang in there and stay strong Becky... you can do this!

Becky,

I am so proud that you had the courage to share this with the rest of us.  What a wonderful inspiration you're going to be when you kick this is the butt and educate everyone else about it.  Way to go!  Keep your chin up and keep moving.  I'm so glad you caught this early so it will be easier to nip.  Hugs to you!

Thanks Mindy,

I thought this would be a piece of cake.  Hell, i'd only been drinking beer since September.  How bad could it be, right?

WRONG!!

I'm really struggling and I sure am glad there are meetings.

THanks for your support!!!

Becky,

I am SO relieved to read in your later posts on this thread how you are getting IN to AA, and are going to the potluck tomorrow. It's great that you are using those phone numbers they gave you!

I heaved a big sigh of relief when I read that. It is OK that you are experiencing a lot of anxiety right now. The way to healing is by working THROUGH that anxiety! If you were to run from it, you would be getting worse. And remember, nobody takes a perfect road to recovery. You may have a hiccup here or there (no pun intended) Never fear being YOURSELF with your support people. We will understand.  If you feel like you have to put on appearances, it is simply time to get honest. You are loved by a lot of people here, even if we haven't ever met you in "real life"

I am just happy that you are you.

Hi Lisa,

I'm having a really rough night.  I went to a meeting but I didn't get any relief from the sadness.  I'm alone tonight and I realize that I depend an awful lot on my bf.  I used to drink alone and it is just really hard to be alone tonight.

They have a 6:30 am meeting and I figure I might as well go.  So I will go to bed early which should help.

 Becky,
When I first read this, I said to myself, " it all starts with the carbohydrate cravings" I think the sweetness in the alcohol can make you crave it more and more. Then bam your in trouble with the whole alcohol addiction part.  You can do this!!! Look how far you have come with your weightloss and everything.  Just like stopping the carb intake. It is very hard.  You were alone with the alcohol. Alcohol is NOT your friend.
Eat a cookie!!!!!   Hang in there. thoughts are with you.
Hugs

Hi Donna,

It is SO SO good to hear from you.  How ARE you?  Have you accepted your beautiful new self yet?

I AM eating sugar but I am not drinking.  I made it a week.  I am on my way to an AA meeting at noon.

Life is so good.  I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you did too.  Are you cruising again?
