Halloween snow storm: survivors check in!

What a freaky thing.  Hope everyone is OK.  Tell us your stories.

Thank heavens I live in the southwest

checkin' in here....from philadelphia, pa.   wet heavy snow caused a huge branch from our neighbor's tree to snap and hurl itself through one on our bedroom windows.  glass every where.   what a mess.

In NYC...we took a walk yesterday to show our baby his first snow,  and a huge branch fell right in front of us.  Needless to say,  we went home.

And this morning we were supposed to go to a big family party...we were all dressed up and ready to leave....and it was cancelled due to road conditions in NJ.

Aarrrggghhhhh.

It was sleet central here, a LOT of precipitation. Thankfully it didn't go to ice, so we didn't see problems with stuff getting weighed down or broken. A little snow is sticking to plant life this morning and my sore places are yelling loudly about damp chill. But we got off easy.

 We have lots of tree damage, lost a huge tree in our front yard.  It snapped right in half!  Wet, heavy snow on trees filled with leaves, not a good combo!  I am disgusted!  Fall is short enough, and to have it abruptly cut in half makes me furious!

We had 12 to 14 inches of snow which has nearly all melted today. Lots of downed trees, but no damage around by us.  We didn't even lose power.
