18 month post-op - Iron choices

I currently am taking Polysaccharide-150mg Iron.  I take 2 capsules one day and 3 capsules the next, but it seems that my iron is starting a very slow but definite downward trend.  The doctor suggests making it 3 capsules a day, but I was wondering if there is another iron that I might absorb better.

I'm fairly certain that I have read of others who use another type of iron for the same reason, I just can't remember what the other type is.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated because I have used OH advice in the past and that makes me very proactive instead of reactive.

Love you guys!

What has worked very well for me is 5 capsules of Vitalady's Tender iron (carbonyl iron) followed at a later time by 1 or 2 Proferrin ES tablets. I wasn't doing all that well on the polysaccharide iron either.

Thanks Gina!  I'll be looking into this.  My iron has always had a tendency to run borderline but now with the DS I'm fighting it to the best of my ability.

I take  Ferrex 150 Forte with 500 mg of Vit C with each to help with help with absorption. It is a prescription from my surgeon. Keeps my levels in the middle of the range.

I forgot to grab them after my appointment, but because not all the labs were complete I am waiting to call them to get a copy.  It was just one of those days when my mind was bit scattered.
